Finally got home and got access to my computer to download some better pics of my buck from this season. This was the shortest amount of time that I’ve spent on stand to get an Ohio buck. Past two seasons I’ve spent 14 and 12 days respectively hunting from dawn to dusk before getting my deer. This year my hunt lasted only 2 1/2 hours. After watching a small buck chasing does around my blind off and on for an hour, this nice 9 point came strolling up from the ravine bottom. I watched him for 10 minutes but couldn’t shoot because he was facing me the entire time. Suddenly, something to my right got his attention and put him on full alert. He bounded away but stopped to look back at whatever it was that had spooked him. He was quartering away at 35 yards when I shot. 5 minutes later, I was standing over him and my 2017 hunt was over.
