Seriously guys we all know what we want to do, but is it worth it?? I have a neighbor who really tried to get over on me when I first moved into this place 12+ years ago. He had run of the property before I moved in. I was nice the first season and became a bigger prick as time went on. I shot down his stands after the first year I told him to remove them. I cleared a path between my property and his so I would know if he was fugging around on my side. I threatened to kick his ass.

A weird thing happened when I was telling the story to a hunting buddy at work on a jobsite. The guys went back to work and a customer of many years who also was VERY tight with my Dad pulled me outside to "talk about my situation". This guy for years was rumored to be "connected". This is what the man told me:
"If this man is causing you problems that you are willing to be killed over it or go to jail for it then please tell me who he is. I want a name, picture, and address. At some point in the future he will go away. If you are serious get me the information. Otherwise back the fuck off. I lost my oldest son because he would not give up $275 to some ($@$$ER) that held him up. He bled to death in the street and I will not let your Father lose his son to some bullshit."

That really made me think. Am I really willing to go to jail over "being right"?? Lord knows back in the day I would try and beat someone's face off for giving me a "hard" look. Is it really worth not seeing your kids for even 30 days in the slammer?? Is it worth losing your job over?? Is it worth having someone killed over??

I get the anger of someone trying to take advantage of you. I guess just as I get older think about how it could change your life. A serious assult charge will cost major $$$ in lawyer fees and time off work. How much is it worth to you??

Holy crap Swantucky! I have seen some mature sides of you in recent posts which I haven't seen before. lol Sounds like pretty good advice.

Jesse- If it makes you feel any better, you are not alone. Here are some jokers I am dealing with. And I thought my issues with human traffic were going to be less now that I have two 70-80 acre properties to deal with instead of 3 5-20acre properties to hunt like i hunted on last year. Geesh. Yeah right! I have 6 pictures of the Kawasaki Mule. 3 pictures of the joker acting like he is peeing on the corn pile was forwarded to me from the guys hunting a neighboring property. 6 or seven pictures of the two guys that looked to be scouting stands and clearing shooting lanes. Funny thing about them is if they were scouting they looked like they had no idea the camera was there. Great scouting on their part! haha

That sucks guys. The lack of respect that is shown to persons and their property by some individuals always blows me away. Specifically within a commom community such as "hunters" you would think that people would show a bit more respect, but that is what I get for "thinking".

Sorry to read of these assholes creating shit for you to deal with. Good luck taken care of it and not having to feel the pain of any "pay-back" tactics.

Don't let a few posts fool you:smiley_adfundum: I just TRY and think before I do something stupid. My wife remided me the other day I am long past my twenties and now have shit I have worked hard for to lose over some jackass. If I gotta get retarded on somebody the last place I am going to talk about it is on the internet.

That is a good reminder for our good friend Jesse. My friends that are law enforcement have always said "make sure there are no witnesses. Your word against his and it never happened."

I am sure you guys know but if you are carrying a firearm avoid ANY situation. Weapons charges are tricky in Ohio and carry a minimum of three years...just sayin. If your not packin and no one is around I say give em a flying drop kick.

I've now spoken with all the neighbors and all the signs point to the same kid and his buddy. When I talked to the neighbor to the east last night, I could tell his daughter's boyfriend knew more than he was willing to admit. I cornered him when I left and could see the look of: "Damn. We pissed off the wrong dude." in his eyes. I told him to make sure his little buddy got the word that he started a war he wasn't prepared to fight. I closed with: "I'm not fucking around buddy. If I catch him or anyone else hot-rodding those damn sport bikes on that farm, you're gonna wish you had never bought the damn thing." I have a feeling word will get out.

I also stopped and spoke with the Sheriff today. They documented our conversation and gave me all the advice I needed on how to handle it without getting my ass in a ringer. I have a feeling things are just getting started, so I'm sure I'll be escorting a deputy around the farm before long. I was told that they will go to the kid's house with me next time since I was pretty sure it was him. I was told by the owner of Bruner Land Co. who owns the trail head these kids are using that I could "treat it like it was my own property" and to "kick his ass off and press charges" if I caught them over there.

I am cut to hell and back from fixing the fence last night, so that added to my frustration. I also hid a few surprises for them if they decide to cut the fence again. I'm going to keep my fingers crossed and hope that the new Posted signs, the repaired fence, and my efforts to get the word out that I meant business, will take care of things. I have my doubts, but I'll remain positive for the time being. Who knows how it will shake out. Either way, I'm going to have to try my best to keep an even keel. Those that know me best, know I have a short fuse and it's already burnt out on this kid...

Jesse, I was going to post something yesterday along the lines of what Randy posted. I will tell you man, a lot of these kids I see coming out of high school have absolutley no regard for authority or the law, and are not afraid of consequences, legal or otherwise. Not saying it will happen, but if this kid feels his honor has been challenged, he might try to defend that at all costs, including trying to hurt you and yours. Also, I would delete any mention of anything meant as a "trap" or otherwise, and you should be able to delete that from others' posts as well. Even if he is trespassing, if you do something that could be construed as malicious intent (like a clothesline, or loosening the tops of your climbing sticks) you can be in trouble, and he could be living in your house....

I'm not going to stick my tail up my ass and play scared. If something I said here should ever come into play in a courtroom, then I'll have screwed myself long before anything I said here comes up. And we'll just hope he doesn't try to harm my family in any manner. To go with what Tucky posted, yes, I'm willing to go to prison or die if someone causes physical harm to my family. I highly doubt it will ever get to that point, but like I said, anything I say here will be a moot point by the time it reaches a courtroom...

Just try to take the high road Jesse.... not saying to not defend your place, property, or family but there's no sense elevating the situation. If it comes to you, then by all means do what is necessary. So far everything you've done is right on, the Sheriff, the neighbors, everybody knows what the deal is. Hopefully the word spreads and things calm down with the little bastard. You've got much more of a future to look out for than that punk does anyway.

I agree tresspassers suck, but damn Phil, those pictues are funny, the bottom two in particular. That guy on the left looks like a hilljack from Deliverance, and the other dude just looks like a fuggtard. I hope both of you guys get your issues taken care of.

Hey fuckwad doan make me come down there. It is a far cry from someone dicking up your hunting to someone fucking with your family. Not the same deal. If they screw with YOUR hunting make sure you get it handled before I come down with Butch or he will. I saw him drag a guy off his horse one time on his FIL's propery:smiley_asswhip: That was funny;)

You know if they fugg with your kin I'll help dig the holes. Screwing up a hunting spot is not worth time in the jailhouse.

Well I started reading this, but maybe I better just go check the oil in the backhoe, gather up the trailer, and make sure the lights work. Might be road trippin'! Hahaha

No need for holes fellas. I know of an abandoned well in God's country that is prime disposal territory! ;)

We had more issues this week, but I think I might have made my point. While we were in Columbus for the game Saturday, the neighbor called and said they had another tree stand screwed with (stole the bottom section of the ladder and left the rest) so they were pulling all their stands. I decided I had better pull the two stands I knew this punk had to know about. I decided to rehang them and chained them up like Fort Knox. I have too many people coming to hunt to not have a few spots set up for them, so I couldn't bring myself to completely pull them. The good news was, the fence is still ok and none of my stuff had been messed with.

My uncle was loading some hay at the farm yesterday and I told him about it. He knows the kids dad and I have a feeling it will get handled from that front too. But I'm pretty sure he got the "don't fuck with me" message I delivered last week. Only time will tell...

Jesse in my time in VC I have noticed one thing. People will never respect you or your things. There will always be one person who will take advantage of someone or show them no respect. It is this reason that they must fear you... When people don't respect others, brute intimidation works well also. It is the only logic those type of people understand.
