This is the exact same weekend that a strom similar to this hit last year. I missed the rut last year. I opted out of this storm, I havent got strong holed into it yet. I told them 15 days is too long for me to be away and I had vacation planned. I am not missing the rut this year...

Dang RG....getting strong-armed into something you don't wanna do is one thing, but getting strong-holed into it, that's a whole different ballgame...that's pretty rough....I'd be calling HR or something....

On-call this week for work and was told by one of the bosses to stop back by the office in the morning and grab another generator to have on my truck lol. Guess I will be earning my pay for the next week lol. Not looking forward to climbing poles in the dark with 50+ winds but gotta do what ya gotta do sometimes lol.

I am worried about our shop getting flooded again. It has flooded twice on the past five years, both times with a foot of water through the shop. I really hope we don't have to deal with that again.

Got home at 4:10 this morning from work and did a walk around our house which is surrounded by some pretty big trees. I stopped at the corner of the backside of our garage and took a piss in the blowing snow and was midstream when I heard a crack like a rifle shot....then crackling and a large crash back away from our house about 80 yards. Startled the crap out of me for a second. I will check it out in the morning when this tired body gets some sleep.

My thoughts and prayers go to those who are seriously effected by these storms.

Didn't have power this morning. Gathered up all my crap for the day and was going to shower at the gym before work, but only got as far as McDonald's before the power came on back here. So gonna shower and try today again.

2 inches of snow. Winds are calm right now

Mom and Dad are now up to 28 inches of snow and it is still coming down. Their power is out also.

Dang! We gave plowed several snows about 10-15" level. Never seen one in the 28" category in 15yrs. When you are seeing 10-15" snow plus drifting, you just about have to go thru with a skid loader or backhoe first. Make a couple lanes where you can fit a truck mounted plow thru, then just whittle away at the parking lot. That is absolutely no fun at all. Pay loaders and backhoes are probably plenty busy down there right now.

Mom's just happy that the temps are not colder than they are and that her next door neighbor takes care of the town roads! She said the flooding would probably be bad, but the main creek that causes problems was dry (very unusual) so that is a blessing.

When I was a junior in HS (1977) we missed the whole month of January due to the snow. Back then, we didn't have to make it up either.

I do not miss winters in WV.
