Good Luck

Walked into our spot, apparently there was a guy bowhunting back there. Couldn't see him but heard him call me and my buddy fucking assholes. I apologized saying I don't know where he was.

If you sir ever happen to ever read this post. May I suggest that calling 2 people u don't know suck things is not that wise. U are lucky that u had an operational vehicle to leave in. Some others would have had a hay day with a car on a cty road.
 
Mason and I went to Walmart to pick up some ammo. It is scary to see so many people in line to buy deer tags and hunting license....and gloves and hats, boots and coats. Where do these people come from? All adds to the fun!
 
If they sold 'em there, I'm sure I'd have seen some going out the door. They had two muzzleloaders left. :)
 
I had to work this weekend.. 12 hr days. I have to work tomorrow afternoon, 9 hrs. Then I'm off two days. I'd really like to go out tomorrow am ... if I wake up, but it would only be for for a few hrs. I could sit out behind the house where deer come thru, but it would have to be with the bow. I could go back up to my groundblind with the gun TOO. I've never bagged a deer on opening day. As busy as the weekend was for me, dealing with death, call offs & everything being busy, I'd just assume stay in bed. Then again, I could go back to my ridge above a cornfield & ravines & just sit. Oh the options I have .....
 
Good luck out there fellas! Been a busy week, haven't been on here much! Gonna try to hunt Tuesday afternoon and Thursday, but that will be it. Gonna take the wife TOO, so maybe she can show me how to get it done!

Saw a gun counter full of guys buying rifles on Friday in PA - they start tomorrow with 3" of snow in spots...
 
Oh, and I'll be out with the 870. I'm taking coffee, a few boxes of shells, a chair, and some bologna. Gonna go low key and stress free...
 
Good luck and be safe. Going to do a ll day hunt today in my hunting tower in my woods.
Got a lunch, coffee, small Coleman Propane heater, and my trusty 40 yr old brown double wide sleeping bag to throw across me if needed. I do try to be warm and comfortable. It iwll be buck only for the Contest.

I'm in sniper mode today. Klay has one direction. I have the other. We are overlooking a swampy bottom that is a funnel between two lakes.

I've got the Traditions muzzy hoping to reach out and touch a swamp buck.

Kody is in up the holler with my dad in a very similar setup. They've had 3 doe go through already.

I had a little buck go by at 740. Two shots on the neighbors farm, and maybe 4 more distant shots. Peaceful in Fayette Co! :)
 
Heard 56 shots by 10am. That is the fewest I think I have ever heard opening morning, and it was not for lack of hunters. Weather was best as I can remember as well. Wonder what the ODNR's excuse will be this year.

The exact same thing is happening here..very few shots..
 
My dads out today, said he has hasn't heard a shot yet....REALLY? Thats rediculous.

Don't know if noone is out or could get off work or what? I saw a convoy going south yesterday afternoon. I stopped counting after a while.
