Got Me Thinking

Definately some good thoughts and interesting reading on this subject. I guess I'll just stick to the fundamemtals and hunt mainly pinch points/funnels. But, I still believe deer have a reason that they are going from point A to B.

I like Jesse's I-270 explanation, as I tend to believe deer do run a loop type pattern in their movements. Not saying they don't vary from it due to many factors. And Joe makes a good point that they hang out in different areas at different times of the year.

If the berries on the east ridge theory is true, then why do we plant food plots and hunt green ag fields many times. Seems these deer come back to the same place for supper time and again. They don't just aimlessly browse through the woods. Again, this thought goes with the idea they know they are going from A to B for a specific reason.

Nah. They can't reason or use logic. Their strength is they're unpredictable. I think they're like Amish. Hey something shiny.

Isn't this how you describe liberals as well?

From what I have read thus far, it seems as if you are all describing deer like a kid with severe A.D.D. Crazy thing is, I think you might be right. lmao

Edit: Guess I should have read down farther. Sorry Hoytmania. You beat me to it. ha

Lots of great thoughts in this thread. Good topic HT. I think there is truth in about every post here. There are just more variables involved. I think some have tendencies, traits, habits, patterns, (whatever you want to call it) which are easier to read. Others are more free spirited. I hate to say personality, but in human terms, we are much like the deer. Some social, some not. Some aggressive, some passive. Some slaves to their stomachs, others to their sex drives. Some hermit like recluses, and others hanging out in the back yard. Seasonal changes influence them as well as year to year crop rotations. Just too many variables, but I like Brock's concept of hitting the funnels the best myself.
