It was a cold start with deer being seen almost nonstop today.

He doesn't normally sit outside on the ground without a corn pile or anything. Told me he liked it this way better. But it was a pretty cold start.
A doe had slipped thru an opening that I told him to be ready for. I got on him pretty hard about being ready to take a shot. They don't just sit and eat off the corn here, lol. I few minutes later he spotted a buck. This buck and decided he wanted to take it. 80 yards out and i hit him with the loudest MEHHH you ever heard. POW! Levi said, when you meh and he curled up, he looked like our dog with the fat rolls
.
We waited a bit because we didn't see him go down or hear him crash. While waiting we heard Michael take a single shot. Hopes where pretty high but I had him stay put while I took up the trail. I didn't see much of anything for the first 25 yards. Then it was very light blood. I called him to and explained to him how important a follow up shot could be. We even lost blood at one point. So i called Michael and he headed our way to help. We found the deer in that time. This was the heaviest the blood ever got. 400 legend in 215 grains. Top of heart and double lung shot.

We told him he had to gut it but it didn't end up that way. Michael did the deed for him. No one puked or even gaged at all. Big bodied deer. Perfect first buck for him!

I also took some shots and blew some fur off a deer. Seth came by twice today to help look and we didn't find anything. So i was the shit hunter in the group today, lol. I also somehow managed to trash my right knee. I guess I will figure out how bad in the morning. Pretty much feels like it's on fire right now. I'm sure that'll go away by morning
