Who said use it for a life line? Also if used as a life line your harness strap takes the load as it has sewn in folds to break away as needed. I mentioned it for substitution for straps on packable climbing steps. Keep up vertically challenged one lol.
No one said to, I was just saying that I wouldn’t suggest it. So that people were clear about how it works.

I think the amsteel blue would probably work fine for the climbing sticks. But the amsteel rope I've seen is relatively small diameter stuff. The bigger diameter static rope (8-10mm) is ideal because it's somewhat "stiff" and can be thrown around the backside of the tree pretty easy, and grabbed easily with gloves on. Also, it cinches down well, but not so well that's it's difficult to undo when you want to climb down. I would think the smaller rope would be more difficult to undo. I could be totally wrong... I'm just speculating.

This, plus you have to watch for fraying on the Amsteel, more so than your typical climbing rope.

I have an XOP Air Raid. It is basically a Lone Wolf but cheaper. It is super easy to quickly set up and what I like the most is the ability to hang it on crooked trees and adjust the seat and platform angle.

I also did the rope mod on my leverage climbing sticks. Monday night was my first hunt with them. Holy cow they make it easier and faster to set up.
