Take whatever you want to kill with. I don’t care if you kill it with a cross bow, a compound bow, or a traditional, whatever makes you happy and the most proficient to put the best shot on the animal is all that matters in my book. Do what makes you comfortable.

I do wish Ohio would legalize the atlatl though.

I do have an email from the ODNR stating that it's perfectly legal to chase one down on Horseback and shoot it with a legal weapon. I further asked for clarification and they said that I can only use one six shooter at a time. I was wanting to do the old dual pistol reins in the teeth. Now that lever guns are legal that might be cool too though

ok, I'll bite today. for some folks the endeavor of bow and arrow hunting is an "all or nothing" proposition, so to speak. if you want to hunt, take your stick. if you want to kill something, take your wheelie bow, your crossbow or your firearm. that's what I do. I like to hunt, quite a lot. my .41mag, however, never lets me down. :smiley_bril:

in the end, it all boils down to what is most important to you, and only you know what that is.

oh, and please hand over your elitist card right fuckin' now for even asking such a dumb question!
Hot dog. Hot dog. Hot diggity dog, we have a winner! (And a throw back to Hotdog...)

who issued your Elitist Card?

FYI, you don't get an Elitist Card just by picking up a traditional bow and hunting with it a season or two. It takes many years of 1) hunting solely with your stickbow, and 2) many years of dedication to trolling, belittling, and/or offending people who use other weapons that are legal in archery season or do not even hunt during archery season to earn Elite status.

Words like "String Gun" "Bolt Rifle" and "Real Bow" must flow freely from ones vocabulary. Possessing an autographed copy of Roger Rothhaar's Whitetail Magic makes one an uber leet.

wasn't planning to, but my vacation started today, I just got done slicing and packaging 20lbs of bacon, south winds suck for the only place I'm still allowed to deer hunt, and I prefer to not go there on weekends anyway, so you never know. my mower deck drive belt pulley lost its top bearing while my wife was mowing last weekend and she continued on mowing until the pulley flew off of the bolt . if the parts get here, I gotta get that put back together so she can tear it up again. I swear that woman could destroy an M1A2 tank if I left her alone with it for a weekend. it would be a good chance to do some squirrel scouting, though...
