He was an active member but hasn’t posted in years. Just not his thing. He walked by some fresh scrapes on the way to the stand. Saw the buck shortly after getting in and figured it would work its way to those scrapes. Sure enough it did and offered a 40 yard shot. Right through the heart. Dad would not have attempted that shot with a compound because of my archery inadequacies. It might be time to consider the X bow for this old man.
We first hunted that spot 4 seasons ago. He missed a big 8 the first sit there. Another shot dad wouldn’t try! I saw some good ones but had no shots that first season. The 2nd year he killed a big 9 there. Last year he sent his buddy to that stand and he killed the biggest buck our group has ever taken. Now this one. Not bad for a public land set up. It’s about a 200 yard walk with no elevation change.

One things for sure Mike. your not gonna forget what dead deer look like as long as he's hunting!!!!!

Might start looking for where he's keeping that lucky rabbits foot.
