350 legendWow what a story! Why no blood in your best guess? Sounds like there should have been blood everywhere with a hit like that. What gun and bullet weight?
160 gr Winchester power max bonded
CVA cascade with the shorter barrel and suppressed
Bullet took out ribs and the left shoulder was a mess and almost fell off on its own when I skinned and quartered it. Almost all the bloody tissue was in the "armpit". The entire chest was a big clot/liquid blood and when i punctured the diaphragm during the field dressing i got flooded with a gush of blood/clots that was almost as big as the gut pile. On the far side i had more ribs broken and the bonded part of the bullet was through the scapula and just under the skin on the far side.
So honestly here are my thoughts (feel free to chip in)
Small entry hole fairly high in the chest
No exit hole
Heart and lungs were gone but nowhere for the blood to exit until he fell within 30 yards
I would have expected better from a bonded bullet and actually saw better performance last year at 50 yards when she got a pass through behind the shoulder withthe same bullet, and I've had a pass through at 170 yards witha different bullet. So the jury is mixed but i want more real life experience first.
