Hens are up

Had some time today to go to the farm and I found about 6lbs of Hens of the woods :smiley_clap:. Some reason I can't get pics to load on photobucket . But I will be eatin good tonight

They don't taste like chicken...lol. They pretty much taste like your spring morels.

Hell yea. My buddy's stepdad just stopped Saturday and showed me a 10lber he found that morning. He cut off about 4lbs and traded it for a bag of yellow perch. I just finely diced some garlic and sautéed it in a little olive oil and butter mixture. Then I added the hens and sautéed for just a few minutes on medium high heat. Oh damn were they good

Yea I agree, I mostly find them under black oaks but this year I have even found them on a few maples


Redhunter I use them in any recipe that calls for shrooms
