I did to. About 1965-66 my brother's BIL was a sky diving instructor. He offered us free lessons and plane rides.
One weekend before we started the BIL had a failed dive where his shoot didn't open fully. He crushed his spine bad.
My brother and I took this as a good omen not to start. Someone told once don't jump out of a good plane. Haven't since.
