Hicks Lawn Services truck racing

Wrapped up the season last night. Gearing wasn't quite there for a big track. Made it work the best I could. Third in the heat race but not without a challenge. This pic is the last lap. Turns 3/4.

Finished 3rd in the heat race. Started 5th in the feature. Finished 5th. Probably "should" have been higher but I played it conservative. I only needed to complete a lap to secure 4th place in points for the year. I already junked one motor. The backup motor got us thru the season but is drinking 2.5 quarts of oil per night. Running up higher would have helped me but also would have turned more RPM. I stayed low and played it safe until the last lap. Unfortunately, the guy in front of me was pretty unpredictable and squirrelly as all get out in the last lap. (And many others.) I'm not wadding up a truck for one more spot. It was a $10 difference at the pay window. Lol

11 scheduled races this year. After rain outs we raced in 9 (10 if you made the King of the Quarter Mile for the top six in points.) I blew up the main motor on night two so I only completed 8 of 9 races. Finished 4th in points for the season while missing a race. Pretty solid season overall. Two years in a row we have raced King of the Quarter Mile and I've made it both years. Outside the race I blew up, my worst finish was 6th place. Had some fun along the way. Ready to get caught up on work and prep for deer season.

Officially finished fourth in points for the season. Beginning the new season already. Confirmed our local VFW Post 8445 is on board to sponsor us again. Going to try to get creative for sponsors this year. Need to talk to my graphics guy and take some measurements. I'm thinking 40 spots at $50/spot on top of the decking (think tonneau cover area). Half of the proceeds going to Warriors Way. Buy a spot. Out your business name on it, your dog's name, congratulate your kid for graduating, whatever you want as long as it is PG rated. I think it would be a good way to generate rice revenue as well as revenue for Warriors Way. Back up motor isn't going to be able to be re-ringed this year. It needs bored. If it gets bored out and new pistons it will also get new rods. Still leaves us short one motor.
