I'm on the fence right now. I have some good deer to hunt, but none bigger score-wise than my best, so I have to decide what matters most this year. I'm on a roll after going back-to-back-to-back on 4.5, 3.5, and 5.5-year-old deer, respectively. Last year's pushed my personal best score to 149", which bumped me up 10" from my previous best and got me over the 140 hump that haunted me for 21 seasons. The best deer I have are at our house, which I've all but stopped hunting now that my girls are hunting. I feel like those bucks are theirs and I'm diminishing their chances if I kill one. That said, if Kaydence kills one early, there are 3 bucks that are definite shooters for me, so I may come in and bat cleanup! Our farm gets better each day as bucks disperse to their home ranges and start looking for love. I really feel like it'll be a "heat of the moment" thing. This buck needs 1-2 years, but if he gives me a slam dunk shot in the middle of a good hunt, I'm not sure I'll hold off. Too many other hunters in the neighborhood to trust that he'll make it.
