Condolences go out to all involved….. Line crew just doing their job, then some ass runs a stop sign and ruins their lives….

I would also suspect that this will change some things in the farming industry. This huge farm equipment has been talked about for years in the electric setting world. Yet another reason I think everything will be underground some day.

Sounds like this guy was fine until he exited the equipment. Made himself phase to ground. Things that should be taught in school, along with taxes and loans...but no...they gotta teach about common core math. 😡

Wonder if it caught fire while he was still on it, making him getting off of it?

I'm often amazed how many people do not realize you need to stay in your vehicle if you are making contact with power lines. To be honest, I learned it later in life. It wasn't taught early. We only heard "stay away from power lines" or "don't touch the power lines if they're down." Never heard what to do if they fall across your vehicle.

And in a side note: don't ask me to help you wire something up. Clearly not my specialty. 🤣

I highly doubt it. Usually it is the person that makes it go yo ground and then all hell breaks out. Tracks/tires are enough to not make it go to ground. Person steps off/out and makes the circuit freak out to ground. Then all bets are off and shit happens until it trips the circuit or it burns off contact.

This may sound like a dumb question. You get fried because you complete the circuit by being in physical contact with the vehicle and the ground outside at the same time?

This matters to me because I spend quite a lot of time under high voltage transmission lines where I hunt.
