How old were you when you left the nest?

For basic training? 18. For good? 24. Once I came back I was either in college/working full time/guard or working full time/part time/guard. Bought my house at 24. Pretty much stayed at a buddy's house from 23 to 24 though. Yeah. I'm a loser.

At 18 I was told "if you don't like my rules, there's the door" I never looked back... guess I didn't like the rules... still dont.
Left for college in 1991 and stayed at my parents house for two summers. After that I was on my own. Left for Ohio in 1995. Screw Illinois.

I went to Idaho to guide at 18.... back home after the season. Worked odd jobs and stayed with my parents for 2 years and moved out at 20. I always told my kids they could live with me as long as they wanted if they were attempting to improve themselves and were a useful member of society. All 3 took advantage of that to get their finances in order before moving out on their own. They are all doing well at this point.
Walked out the door the day I turned 18. Started my senior year of high school the very next day.

13 days after I turned 18 and never looked back, that’s the last time minus a few months that my sister lived nearby that I lived near “family”.

Off to college at 17, stayed at home the first two summers, then off on my own. Married at 22.
19. Lived with various friends at various houses and apartments. Still took laundry home to mom though 
. When we got the house it needed lots of work to be livable and wife was still in nursing school. So my Dad invited us to move in to save money when lease was up so we could fix house and wife finished school. Was almost a year

Went to college 1988-92, worked for a few years bouncing between home and girlfriend's home at the time til we got married and we bought my parent's home. So I kinda lived there ever since the 3rd grade LOL

Straight from high school to the Marine Corps and never looked back. Left before graduation.
18 - 3 days after graduating HS - Parris Island USMC boot camp - 1955
I had no choice in the matter cause the nest left me. Lost both parents that were tragically killed in an auto accident when I was 15. Left the home shortly afterwards and lived with a buddy in a rented out lakefront home, worked & went to school, then joined the military right after graduating from HS. Haven't lived back in my home state ever since.

Left the house at 17, when I graduated high school. Rented a house for two years, bought my first house at 19. Lived there up until June of this year. Moved the ol lady in three July’s ago. Moved to Ohio and bought my second house with the wife and kids. I’m 26 now.
