I know this is gonna sound gay, but I like rolling up to hunt in the mornings in silence. Helps get me in a mental state to prepare myself for my sit in the woods. I don't know why it is, but it's how I've always done it.

Yep. Gay. ;) LOL! This is why we don't ride together in the mornings!!! :D

I'm from a different cloth as I like to rock out when I'm headed that way. I have four go to songs...

Tool - 10,000 Days is by far my favorite. When Maynard sings:

You're the only one who can hold your head up high,
Shake your fists at the gates saying:
"I've come home now!
Fetch me the spirit, the son, and the father.
Tell them their pillar of faith has ascended.
It's time now!
My time now!
Give me my, give me my wings!"

That's what rocking out is all about!!! That shit makes we want to spill blood!!! I made that post about going into battle a while back on OS and a bunch of fuggers jumped my shit for comparing hunting to war. But I view it as such regardless of what those dumb asses think and a good pump up song is always called for when I'm headed to the woods...

X 2.

Same here. The last thing I need is for my ears to be ringing when I'm trying to hear footsteps of a deer coming my way.

I don't have a radio on my mountain bike. Many times I ride it as far as I feel I can safely sneak into the woods. Sometimes it is just far enough off the road to hide from traffic. Sometimes it is along the field edge halfway and sometimes to the edge of the woods. Depends on which stand I am hunting. Only downside is when you sit in the rain all day then the wind picks up and you are pedaling home frozen. Oh yeah, the time I got a flat tire sucked too.
