Hunting the Thermals

This is an awesome morning spot. It is at the top of a long draw with a cedar thicket being at the top of a south facing slope. Access is about impossible and deer know it. Look at the frost line. Perfect spot for a cold frosty morning. Find you one of these late season spots and you will see deer. Promise. Just be aware of your access.

The ice fog this morning was epic for learning. I hope people got to really see how it works! I rushed trying to leave work and get to a place I could make a video but failed. One of the times I really wish I had a drone to do a video for everyone. You flatlanders can really learn how that deer 300 yards away is smelling you. Those 1-2' elevation changes play a big roll when the sun comes up. So does which side of the woods you are on!

Missed some great learning today if you missed it. It was perfect. Zero wind with the cold air fighting the sun! Sun wins 100% of the time.

@giles and I were texting back and forth today about this today. With the rapid change in air temps, we had "cold fog" today that met a high-pressure, sunny morning that created one of the best visuals of thermals you will ever see. It rolled up out of the bottom like someone turned on the range hood!
