Dang. Was going to agree with Cotty until I read your follow up post. Best of luck to her and everyone else facing these storms!

As a hurricane veteran... just hang in there. Head to the middle of the house, let 'er pass. Run the generator for a day or two for your fridge and fans...and you are good to go until the next one shows up! Just a Florida guy letting my Ohio brothers know how we roll.

Lived in Cape Coral from 85-93. Your advise brings back memories.

I hate all the media hype. But it is funny watching the dumb ass weather man standing out in the storms getting drenched.
Everyone else has left the scene and there is the dummy with a mic telling everyone on TV how bad it is.
Electrical outages are expected, trees blown over are expected and even flooding. It's a hurricane stupid.

Well just got off the phone with my daughter, it's been a long day and a half for her mother and I but all is good..... By the way SPRINT sucks azz...... She had an issue with her phone, they gave her a new one and she sent the old one back via FedEx (3 weeks ago) and they issued a tracking number Sprint said they never got it back and shut her phone off in the middle of the hurricane...... she spent 2 hours last night talking too them and they said it would be back on in an hour and 8 hours later it was on..... needless too say I'm a little pissed off about that deal..... It's not like they don't have her phone # that they couldn't have gotten hold of her asking about it before shutting it off..... the phone ended up at their facility they just couldn't find it...... what a bunch of idiots..... Oh well she's safe and nothing tore up so far although she hasn't made it home yet too see what damage if any is at the apartment complex..... crossing my fingers with that one.... Thanks for all the well wishes and the support you guy's have too let me vent.... :smiley_crocodile: TOO rocks!!!!!!

I have friends in boston that were pretty lucky to have a tree fall on their house compared to their neighbors that are flooded out and pretty much homeless. I couldn't imagine what that would be like.
