Friday night before our game I went to jump a four foot fence instead of walking 30 feet to a gate. In the process of jumping the fence goin to stick the landing I rolled my ankle and heard and felt.a pop, I started to yell and one of our injured football players was out helping get our head sets hooked up and he started laughing. I hobbled into the trainer, he said just a high ankle sprain but still it is swollen, bruised, and it clicks and pops time I walk on it. I planned onbgoing out saturday and sunday but that didn't happen, right now I am going keep off of it and see how it feels monday and.think about going to a doctor to see what they think about it. Dang I must be getting old because I usually could do stupid things and wouldn't get injured.

Dude. I did the same thing on thursday. Went to my nephews football game. Thought i would be a cool guy and run around with the little kids. Tried to juke and pop...rolled the ankle. Its fine now, but man it hurt when i did it. Felt like i tore my achillies.

Shoot. I can't even sit in a hang on anymore without moving around like a 5 yr old. Cause my back hurts so bad. Im only 33. Shouldn't be feeling.like this.

Our brains say "Sure, you can do that" but our bodies dont cooperate. I am still dealing with a foot injury from 2 months ago. I decided that I would play some 3 on 3 half court hoops with some guys 10 years my junior, and when I got done it felt like I had torn the tendon on the arch of my foot in half. It still hurts like a sumbitch at times but the doc says its just a bad case of tendonitis. Getting old sucks....

Nope, your not that old, or you would have known better than to try that in the first place. :smiley_brancard:

Sorta what I thought Tuff. The older you get the more you learn your "abilities" and your "inabilities"!:smiley_bril::smiley_adfundum:

It's not that we get hurt more when we get older it's just we don't recover like we once did lol. RECOVERY and bounce back power is whats fading away lol.

Tie one on like you did in high school or college and see what happens the next day lol. Back then you could walk around next day no problems and go on about your day. Do that shit now and your pretty much curled up in bed or the couch the entire next day :D.

Guess I'm getting older then cuz the last time I tied one on it took me 2 days to recoup.........:smiley_adfundum::smiley_couch:

Fort loramie is the team...I thought bout resting all day but did some yard work to keep it loose. I heard it from the other coaches, one told his verison of the story a hundred times.

Where in Ohio is Fort Laramie? When I go to the state baseball clinic in Columbus every January I see their coaches, but never have talked to them before.
You happen to halp with baseball as well?

Preaching to the choir here buddy! I'm 28 with the body of a 48 year old. Like gecko, I can't sit a hang-on for more than a few hours because my back kills me. And when I stand up, my knees pop really loud. It sucks...

Ditto that. I usually need a solid 2 days before I start to function normally again.

As for my ankles and knees... I can't walk up the stairs without sounding like I'm walking on bubble wrap, or like a bowl of rice crispies, snap, crackle and pop.

West Central Ohio, Shelby county. No I don't coach baseball, thought about it the staff he has together have been there for a very long time and didn't feel like rocking the boat. Plus football takes alot of my time!
