I got a bloody arrow.....

Sorry guys it was LATE by the time I got her home last night and 430 came early to be back in the tree. I was after a particular buck but knew there were a TON of does in this bean field. I was really just in a observation stand and at 6pm I had 11 does out in front of me. By 6:45 4 broke off and headed for me. I normally dont shoot does (last one in 04' i think) but they came in and got my wind. The other does had cleared and went into the corn and these four were headed on a B-line for me. They ended up catching my wind and the two momma does busted me. I filmed them coming in and all the action of them busting me. The biggest one blows and starts stomping so I know its done. I HATE when old does bust me bc they will always walk by that stand on guard from there on out! Soooo.... once she blew the other one turned slightly to give me a shot and I made a quick draw, made sure she was on cam, and blew a slick trick thru her! She only ran about 70 yards and crashed in the beans. The other 3 does stood over top of her all night, even after I left. I got back there around 9pm and they were bedded around her. Kinda felt bad at that point but they quickly moved on. The footage turned out pretty dang good and made lugging all that shit in worth it! Self filming is def the hardest thing ive done but when it comes together its awesome! Tonight im after the big boy since hes on the other side of the farm.

Nice write up and pictures... Congrats on the mature doe.... You are right once you educate them your in trouble... Just ask Jesse.....

Wow, sounds like a great hunt and congrats on getting it done self-filming! That's a big old doe too!

So they were out eating on the beans? I always give up on the beans when the leaves fall off, maybe I should reconsider.

Flute - yea kinda suprising. Ive always gave up once the leaves turn and hit acorn flats but I was sitting on a 40 yard wide creek (literally below the stand) one side beans the other side corn. I was expecting them to work the corn edge to a small woodlot but they all piled in the beans.

Interesting!
