I knew that was a buck

In the new eyes thread I was wandering about a picture and asked if it was a buck or not, so I turned the camera around to get a different view and...

He may not be big but he is the first bonehead I've gotten on camera so far.

hey redcloud, this spot has gotten visiters every night between 6:30 and 9:30. not much activity in the AM always right around sunset....:smiley_chinrub: hhmmm...

this bunch comes through almost every night. there is also a lone doe that is a frequent visitor.

BTW this might belong in some sort of a product review thread but I,ve noticed this camera has had some problems with color photos, not sure if its because its in a shady location or if its because the batteries are down to about 50%.
just an observation.
 
Hey Dante. It looks like that timber floods from time to time. . The reason you might only be seeing them in the evening is because that's a transition area. If the area is prone to flood it may have to many mosquitoes, soggy ground from a high water table etc. Meaning they prefer to bed somewhere that might be a little higher. Don't know, just thinking out loud

Probably shade related. It's dark enough at the camera to trigger the IR panel even though it could take a color pic. That happens a lot this time of year. Just one of those things with an IR camera...

yes this area has gradually dried up over the course of the summer, in the spring this spot was a good place to find wood ducks. right now it is full of oak trees, and deer tracks. and soon enough, there will be a treestand in there.:smiley_bril:

The woods man.. They talk if ya listen. :) To bad they never tell me where old mossy horns is going to walk that day.. I'm like Greg.. Worst luck... I have no problems finding nice deer, It just never works out.. Most often they are out of range.
