I see some potential

What the heck, I am on a roll. Who wants to see more deer porn? Yeah, dumb question. I know.

Here ya go. I am simply calling this guy "Bent Brow" for now. I have studied all these pictures a ton. I have done so much so they are starting to blend together. At this point in the ball game, it is fun just to see a bunch of bucks on camera. I don't know if "bent Brow" will make it this year or not. I am leaning towards probably not. The velvet makes it so deceiving. He might blow up, but I don't think so. I think he might be a year younger than "Double split brow 10". I am thinking all of these deer are 2.5-3.5yrs old. Double Split might be the exception, but I don't think so. What this tells me is I am missing one or two. These guys are TOO regular and TOO active in the daylight for me to think they are very old. I am still looking for a big, mature deer. My gut tells me there is a bigger one in this area, but he is not out wandering around with these guys. If I had to guess, he is on one of the properties to the south of this one. Time will tell.

Looking good Phil!! Its great getting to watch some nice bucks develop in front of your cameras, good luck on findin your big, mature buck, its only a matter of time and you will find him!

Thanks guys! "Round and round they go, wherever they stop, nobody knows!" Hope this property lands on a winner for me!

I admit. I have been obsessed with these pictures since down loading them yesterday. Not 100% positive, but I am thinking the "Double Split Brow 10" is the deer I was calling "Shorty" last year. The height and width of the brow tines don't match any of the other deer. I am curious to see if his tines remain short this year or if he puts on some decent length. Time will tell. Maybe the pictures from last year will help you guys guess his age this year. These pictures lead me to believe he is at least 3.5yr old deer. Not sure if I am seeing 4.5yrold here. Maybe. Probably not.

This year:

Very nice updates!! Yeah I agree it could be Shorty. Any other day time pics of him from last year to compare?? Either way, he's going to be a dandy with those split brows!!

I have some more daytime pics from last year but they were farther away. Those were the best pictures of the antlers. I will pull them up when I get to my desktop PC. Good thinking Chuck. I am guessing you are thinking of comparing fur and markings?

AWESOME Phil!!! Looking great man! Thanks for sharing those pics TOO. It can only get better from here on out!

I would agree Ric. Not just for these bucks, but from here on out we should all start seeing more trail camera pics being posted! Who doesn't love antler porn? lol

That's exactly what I was thinking!

After looking at your pics again, I'm pretty sure your assumption on that buck being Shorty is spot on. Let's hope his tines kick it in gear and get some height.

For ChuckC. It is about all I have for daytime pics. The rest are right at dusk or farther away in shadows. Not much help.

I would agree FS. Let's hope the tines have a growth spurt this year! Right now he has decent width, brow tines are seriously cool already, and I am hoping the rest of the tines catch up. Last year was sort of pathetic on tine length. Reminded me of the one Fluteman had that he called STT.

Hey thanks for looking them up though, was worth a shot. I would say from how his antlers were last year and how this one's growing it's likely the same deer. Here's to watching him grow to be a giant for ya!! :smiley_cheers:

I appreciate it ChuckC! There were no other deer in the area with brow tines spaced this far apart that I have pictures of or have seen from the stand. If not the same deer, it is a new guy showing up. We don't have that many deer in the area, and even fewer bucks above a basket rack. I think there is a pretty good chance it is the same deer. We generally have typical racks which are narrow, heavy, and clean, or else they are half racked deer. Wish I could eliminate the half racks as we have many. I don't foresee a legal way to eliminate the half rack genes from the area. I don't even see it happening in an illegal way. Seems we have a bunch of them every year. Maybe it isn't a gene thing, but we sure do see a bunch every year.
