I Witnessed the Rut

I was checking out a new hunting area and found a "transitional" section, along a clover field and the woods that looked good enough. So, I hung my tree saddle and waited to see what I could see. Shortly, I seen a buck walking inside the wooded edge, headed my way. If he stayed inside the woods he wouldn't catch my wind. He got to the edge and looked across the clover field for a solid 20 minutes.
I was guessing he had caught my wind and was sorting out where's the human. Then....a doe showed up and she was walking in circles around him. When she stopped he started licking her backside. She stepped away, he followed, started licking again and then mounted her. 💘
When they were done, they walked away from me, in the other direction. He was a 10 pointer and they were about 35 to 40 yards away. If I had my Ravin R10, he'd be dead as we speak. I have no regrets, felt privileged so witness this event and I'll be back out there tomorrow evening....but about 35 yards closer to that area with my Obsession Fusion 7, in hand. (y)💯
Love is in the air!!! 😍

That guy I was working with that I hated. I got everyone calling him "the gardener". He thought it was because he wears a sun visor on his hard hat. Everyone else knows it was because he was always in the office planting tulips. 🤣

Been going on for months now and it's freaking hilarious.
