I was on my way home a bit ago & got stopped at the crossing for this. I then had to chase it down to get the video . It was on me rather quickly.....
Ohio is full of them .....just think though, back before automobiles, almost every little town had a railroad running thru .....Back in the day there were a lot of short line railroads. Conrail consolidated a bunch and then eventually split up between Norfolk Southern and CSX.
Good to see some small lines still working it!
Has to go before the Surface Transportation Board for approval. The US Attorney General can also quash the deal.I think it's a done deal. They signed in July
It'll have to be approved by some board, but they have been signing already.Wonder if the government will allow that one?
Just texted a buddy, he works for Norfolk Southern. See what the rank and file are saying…..It'll have to be approved by some board, but they have been signing already.
I'd love to hear his stories Jim ..A friend of mine is an historical authority on the subject and has metal detected the site for years. One of the more haunting finds are little gold balls found in the spring around and down stream. They are the gold teeth and jewelry of the victims melted from the fires that so badly incinerated. At that time, all the cars had wood burning stoves going. When the cars crashed into the valley below, everything burned. Many reported cry’s for help, tangled in the wood, fire and steel wreckage.
