Just going to document here a bit. Been all.ovwr this guy all year. Didn't take a shot earlier in the season because I didnt trust the shot. Had him @43 yards which is pretty easy with my setup. But it had taken a fall that morning. Neighbkr gut shot him a couple weeks ago too.

Wow, this is not the same deer! There is 2 of these! This deer is almost black in color. Hardly any white on him and his main almost come together. Isn't even the deer i watched all season!

You know how bad my main property got hit by EHD this year. Going to be a long time to recover from it. Add the practices of the land stewards and I have a hell of a battle on my hands. Sucks to look at that reality in the eyes.

That is for sure the same deer. When I have seen him he is always his own color and just a real pretty deer. I never realized why until looking at him on the ground. This picture shows all the black in him. Oddly, he looks red in the woods tho. This picture really shows it in his legs.

Thanks again everyone. My attitude is much better this morning than it has been. The "hunt" to find a good buck is over. Everyone knows im a sucker for a big 6! I guess a nice 7 will hold me over for now. I dont think the trophy hunters of tomorrow will be upset about me taking this guy out. Lol
