Interesting Video on Ammo Shortage....

Midway USA sold out of 22 long rifle - Hoot found some last week at outrageous price -
Just gotta remember the stores that are charging these prices and stop doing business with them and put them out of business...

Still doesn't explain why over the past four years they haven't built new factories to meet demand. If they don't have the money, any capital investment company would gladly fund it with the kind of demand that has been present for years. "We're making the most we're able", doesn't hold water if you don't increase your ability. It just means you're making the maximum to not meet demand and keep prices high. Notice he doesn't say one thing about price per unit cost over the last 4 years.

I like when he walks by the bulk bin of 9mm and says here it is ready to be packed and shipped. I was thinking why wasn't it being packed and shipped? Even on federals own site where you buy direct from them the prices are way up.

Wonder if retailers are sandbag n to keep prices up
Have you ever been in retail? Stores aren't stockpiling products to make another couple of dollars. Just isn't worth the space. A sale is a sale and ammo is hot.

Between what he says in the video and what Joe commented on is the issue. Supply isn't keeping up with demand. I wonder what kind of ropes you have to jump through to manufacture ammo. What is stopping someone else from joining this highly active market right now? Why isn't Trump Ammunition a thing? That shit would sell.

No different than the run on butt-wipe.
Hornady guy said that.

I would be pissed too if I was these guys. They're jumping around to make everything they can happen and the customer is bitching still. Making up stories of how it is everyone but the consumer. Whe. The proof is right in front of everyone. It is us creating our own problem.

Starting to make a little more sense of why they don't open more production sites. What happens when they catch up? Shut it all back down?

Manufacturing does it all the time.... Get caught.... Lay people off....

They also said a shortage of some materials if I remember
Ueah, but the one said he ordered 6 months worth of supplies. Lol, that kind of tends to create a shortage for others. He also said it created a space issue. Kind of cool how he broke it down all the way to staples and cardboard for shipping.
