The unpredictability of knocking on the door of a stranger can be a scary bitch. I have had several people snap on me over the years at the health dept... Never pulled a weapon on me, but enough to make me start looking for an escape route. We weren't allowed to carry a weapon for protection either which is bullshit. It's just not right that you put your own safety on the line, as well as the well being of your family, just doing part of your everyday job. It's truly ridiculous. But shit, you have to bring home that bacon somehow right? Be safe out there man.

Ya. I hate that about my work too. No guns on drill pad means I have a 300+ mile, round trip drive through OH,PA and WVA...to and from work twice a month or more. I don't worry so much about the drill pad site. Its all the cross-country miles and no gun. Its Bullshit.

A lot of folks upset about the oil and gas work going on (most upset cause someone else is getting the money lol) I work in oil and gas. Sitting on a well pad right now actually. Amazing the pipe bombs and stuff that's found thats meant to kill the workers. Anyone else out in the patch be careful.
