Jason's Fishing 2016

I hit a small lake they are draining on Wednesday and Thursday night. Wednesday I bass fished most of the time and they weren't biting so I switched to crappie and caught a few. Thursday night me and my little brother hit the same spot trying for crappie and got about 15 total and 12 keepers. We also caught close to 70 little bluegills and one little bass. I fished Piedmont today and we only caught a few little guys, I'll be heading to Salt Fork tomorrow. Here's the pic from Wednesday, you get the idea.

Well the fishing sure sucked today. We didn't get a single bass bite all day and it took less than 8 pounds to win today. Second place through fifth had 4 pounds and change so it was tough for everybody.

Looks like some nice crappie in that bunch! Nice!

I fished a few different times this week for crappie and catfish. It's been slow but I managed a couple eater sized cats and a crappie last night. The bigger crappie were nowhere to be found but I did catch a few tiny ones.

We had a decent day at Leesville in our club tournament today. We started off the morning with two almost 2 pounders and a 12 inch keeper within an hour. Then we caught 15-20 more small bass and only two more were over 12 inches lol. That happens a lot at this lake in the spring. We ended with 6.5 pounds and got 4th place out of about 20 boats. It took 7.5 pounds to win so we were close. It seemed that everyone caught a bunch of fish but the bigguns weren't biting. I forgot to take pics

Sounds like you had a decent morning. My cabin is close to Leesville, but I've never fished there. I have a friend that owns a cottage on the lake and he catches some huge Musky every year. I'll have to try Leesville sometime.

We catch quite a few musky when we are bass fishing there and at Piedmont too. They get pretty annoying if you aren't targeting them lol but we don't catch any monsters either.

We fished a club tourney at Clendening today and caught a lot of little guys but never got a good bite. Other people whacked em pretty good and it took around 16 pounds to win. We have another tournament there tomorrow so hopefully we find the better fish

Good luck with the tournament....

Well today the problem wasn't getting good bites it was just getting five of them lol. The day started out really slow for us and by 12:00 we only had one fish, but it was a 3 pounder. We hit the spot where we caught a bunch of little guys yesterday and I caught another 3 pounder pretty quick and then a 2.5 a few minutes later. After that we couldn't get any more bites there so we moved to the other side of the lake and I caught our fourth keeper which was a 13 incher. We fished two more hours without a bite and had to weigh in with just four fish. We ended up with 9.5 pounds and it took 12 pounds to get in the top five. We just needed one more nice one to place. It took 17 pounds to win again. Here's two of our better fish

Good job Jason, not all about the wins (not that they don't help lol) but taking somethin away each and every time on the water.... I've been fishing tournaments for over 33 years and always learn new things.....
Keep up the good work.....

Ya it was a good time either way. I'll be fishing a high school tournament at Alum Creek this Saturday and might skip school Friday morning to do a little fishing with a buddy of mine. Not sure where yet though. The bite has really been picking up the last couple weekends and should be really good by this weekend.

Fishing was tough for me this weekend but I did catch a few. We hit Pleasant Hill friday morning and only caught three bass with the biggest being around 2 pounds. Then Saturday we had the high school tournament and only caught like 7 or 8 bass with only 3 being keepers. Today we hit Shreve lake and couldn't catch anything but tiny crappies and bluegill so we went and fished a public pond. I caught a couple bass and my buddy got one then we caught some bluegill and crappie later. Here's the biggest one of the day, it's nothing special but it's not bad.
