Time in stand (9/30 & 10-1): 4 hours

Deer seen: 6 (10-1)

Bucks: 0

Shots taken: 1

Result: 1 doe

Got this doe 10-1-12 in coshocton at 8:00. 20 yard shot and she made it about 80 yards.







I was pretty happy with this doe as she entered my clover plot (small plot and first one...) good to see the hard manual labor paying off! I usually don't have a lot of shot opportunities early season at this property.

She gave me a partially quartering away shot. Thought she only had one baby, but there were two. They seemed to be pretty good size and hung out for about 45 minutes after I shot. I haven't shot too many deer with my bow so I was happy to take her.

Got out the other night, no deer...

Just as it was getting to be the right time, we heard some balling and didn't know what it was. Then some barking, then came the howling. Dang coyotes were on the ass of something and ran all over the place chasing/tracking whatever they were after.

Oh well:

Got out last night to a new piece of ground...

Got in early to get set up, not too bad for first night. Saw 2 does, but wind was going all over the place! What a mess. Need to rehang the set in a different are based on what I saw last night.

2 shots taken, 1 doe and 1 buck

Plans moving forward...

Taking BIL out Saturday to hopefully see some rut action and get him 1st chance at deer with bow. Going to film the action, 1st for me...

I will shoot another doe or a BB in Ohio, maybe 2 and give one to family.

May be heading to WV for rifle season! Another first if plan comes together.

Went out the last 2 weekends to film for BIL.

Saw 2 deer on 11-3 during 3 hour hunt

Saw 0 deer on 11-11 during 2.5 hour hunt.

Taking my 10 year old brother out this Saturday for his 1st hunt ever. I'm very excited and hope we get on some. I will be filing the hunt with my new setup so I am doubly excited!
