Stopped by all 4 plots today and there's germination and growth in all of them. Need some pop up showers this week cause the forecast is really dry.

Paradise plots got a good dousing this morning, but it appears rhe farm missed it again. There's again chance they'll get rain in the next 24-48 hours. If they don't, I'll overseed ahead of the next rain.

Thanks man. Been rough on the food plotters. Wettest June or record and a dry ass August.

Called our Ops Manager who lives near the farm. Said it was still bone dry. Told him why I called and he laughed. He's on official rain duty now: text me when it rains! LOL

Had a chance to check out the plots on Sunday. The Paradise plot is looking decent since it got rain when the farm didn't. Forgot to snap a pic, but it should really explode over the next week or two. The plots at the farm looked decent considering there has been less than 1/2" of rain out there since I planted them 3 weeks ago. We have rain coming today and tomorrow, which looks like it could be a soaking rain, which we need. If we get that type of rain, I expect these plots to take off.

The Corner Pocket

The Runway

The Big Plot

With the Big Plot being a perennial that can be frost seeded, I'm less worried about how it performs this year. I plan to frost seed more of the Merit 12-Point Buck blend in late February, so I have faith this plot will be much better come next fall.

Hopefully you see the rain they are calling for. Got to love seeing the "baby" K. She is growing up fast.

You should concider cutting the walnut out of your plot. I recently learned walnut trees release a herbacide called Juglone as a defence mechanism to stop other plants from growing with-in their dripline . That herbacide is probably restricking some of your germination. Obviously, from your b4 picture, plants can/will grow but I have always noticed that below walnut trees there never seems to be an over abundance of vegitation. Just a thought
Corey, the walnut is the tree on the right. I'd say it's out of juice...

I failed to get to my Big Plot and I was fearful it would go to hell. It's loaded with clover, but needs some love. I'm hoping to mow in the next 2 weeks and if it recovers, I'll leave it be for the year. If it sucks, I'll just till it under. Ultimately, this plot will be in corn. Just didn't have time this year.
