With all this covid virus stuff going on and all the reports of increase of deaths and hospitalizations going on, what kind of shape will the insurance companies be on when this all wraps up? Health insurance and life insurance companies gotta be sweating all these numbers being thrown around....

I read a stock report on the subject. Longer stays cost more than short stays but are actually much cheaper than surgeries. With all non-elective surgeries postponed the insurance companies are doing better. The hospitals themselves are hurting. They don't invoice as many dollars. Hospital costs are up. Furloughing employees since they have emptied their beds in anticipation. My initial thought process was like yours J. Once I read it, it made sense.
