Leaves

Anyone else find it strange they are still on and have hardly turned? What a strange fall. Judging by the color of our local leaves it looks like it’s about October 10, and will soon be November!

Made that comment to some buddies Saturday. Looks more like early October than late October....
Leaves are thick and hardly changing color. Although as I was walking the pup this morning it did look like a lot of leaves fell in this wind he last few days...

It’s like that in central Ohio too. I was out yesterday when the rain and wind picked up. It took down tons of leaves real quick but they were all kind of a dull green color. Weird.

We had gusts to 40 yesterday. This time of year with that kind of wind, trees should be almost bare now. Nope. Most are still pretty green. I’ve never seen it like this, at least not that I can recall.

It was peak color weekend in PA this past weekend. Still lots of green leaves out there. Late drop year. I just want to mow my yard one more time.

This took me by surprise this past weekend when I hunted in a thick travel corridor. Typically this time of year you can see a decent distance, it still looks like opening day in there! Can't see chit!

Seems we went from green to 50% of them changing in the last few days. Many fell with the winds Saturday. Weird leaf change/drop for sure. Has to do with the amount of moisture received this year and the sugars in them. I could try to explain it as the local Ag office agent explained it on TV but I'd screw it up.

That's what I'd heard as well. A wetter than average late summer and fall .

I don't mind to much. The leaves help hide my husky profile while in a tree stand

They were later than usual last year too from what I remember. I had a picture from 11.08.17 I tried to post but the image file was too big. Still plenty of color and about 60%-70% of the leaves were still holding on.
