Yes. I passed on a young doe and had another with a fawn in muzzy range. I may take you up on that when I get the new barrel on.

Sorry you messed up your barrel, be glad you didn't do that with a different gun

A lot of guys use only a range rod for shooting practice and put a 4" or bigger flat plate or plastic ball, something, on the ramrod so it is impossible to not see it if you leave it in the barrel

I do the same thing with a longer range rod. I even use the range rod when I go hunting and leave the regular rod home. The range rod is fiberglass and has a good file wood handle on it for ease of loading. I found out this week that the range rod helps in necessary reloads when hunting. A practice I hope to avoid in the future.

Glad it worked out as well as it did, Mike. A fouled barrel is the least of a long list of bad things that could happen!
