I still have a Lionel Thomas the train set in the box from i think 92 . Newer but still a classic . I actually got it out last fall and tried to get it going for my daughter but the transformer is pretty much shot . For any of you that ever heard of the " worlds largest cookoo clock" it used to be located at the Alpine Alpa restaurant in Wilmot ohio , I helped clean it up before they restored it . The place closed two years later , anyhow Dave they had a train that ran the whole way around the eating area all mimicking the swiss alps , it was the coolest thing I've ever seen Train wise I wish I had some pictures of it.

Yup, that is like what I was thinking. Up around the top. Let it make laps for the rest of time. Be cool as cool gets.

Love me some trains! Lots of different sets growing up, still put one under the Xmas tree until presents start to get wrapped and accumulate. We put one around my uncles bar back when I was a teenager. Track & train is still there, just hasn't moved in over a decade after some damage following a NASCAR party🤣

Here's the cookoo clock at Sugarcreek now, pretty cool you were in on it back when, TBG!

Here's a historical map of railroad mergers. I was thinking Erie Lackawana went with Penn Central, but did not.....Erie DID merge with Lackawana at some earlier point....

Sometime in the 60’s if I remember correctly.
My dad and grandfather would sit and talk about all the BS that was coming down.
My grandfather had retired (was a brakeman) and passed away before all that transpired.
The employees took pay freezes when it happened. That freeze lasted for some time until conrail turned a profit or close to it.
