After feeding cattle and helping mend fences we were given the go ahead to hit Bald Eagle crick that ran along most of our farm. Dad and granddad had to call out(scream) or honk to let us know when to head back to truck. Caught Sally’s, crawdads and water snakes aplenty and had many a Horsehair shaft races(weed that grew in a marshy area) on the rapids in a 10-20 yard stretch. Didn’t take much to entertain us boys, ifn it had water, cattails, rocks to flip and mud we knew how to use it and wear it.
