I can still smell the fresh cut grass and hear the shuttering sounds down our quiet side street in Zanesville Ohio in the mid 60’s.

yes, that stuff was the worst. Bactine was only a little better.
The vans we had when I first started working for NJ Bell were column shift...we used to shut off the engine and coast a while, then pop the clutch...instant backfire! And it was loud. Whenever you saw a coworker on the side of the road we would do this to scare them....then we started to get vans with automatic transmissions and the fun stopped.Should be a requirement for a license
