I harken back to the decade in our youth thumbing through the Sears and JC Penny catalogues dropping hints to our parents wanting one of these large slot racetracks. We made Ralphie look silent like the mainstream media on Joes cognitive abilities. Lmao
The nagging finally worked but it was a much smaller track but we didn’t care. I can still smell the little transformer getting hot and putting a drop of oil on that little spot under the cars. We both got Johnny Rocket cars one Christmas even though we didn’t have a JR track and ran them on Hot Wheel tracks strung out from on top of the couch down to floor and into the hallway. Kids today have no clue how much fun they’re missing out on. I’m actually thinking about buying one for our grandchildren to play with when that time comes.

I remember when I was a kid, around Christmas time, my dad would set up a train track with the old electric trains…..you had to put a drop of oil in it so it would release a puff of smoke now and then.

View attachment 203771View attachment 203772 I forget which brand we had as I was very young but I did a search and found these so the youngsters on here could see the advanced technology we had.
My Grandfather and Dad were both railroad workers. So the trains around the trees were mandatory 😂 Later on my oldest brother went to work for them, then my sister for a spell….. They worked in the office. Dad wanted me to do the same. I’m a shop guy, didn’t know how to type or sit still at a desk and work…… Well at least back then….. 🙄
