Well I’m afraid it’s time to leave Ohio. We hunted hard and scouted hard, but things just didn’t work out. We had fun, got frustrated and then just enjoyed the moments. I’d like to post some things we learned from this trip.
This is a beautiful state! It is deer looking country if I’ve ever seen any. The public lands are fantastic, maintained and planted. Plenty of deer sign but not many deer. There was a good amount of deer sign tho. Plenty of deer trails, decent amount of rubs and scrapes in areas. We made the decision driving back after the morning hunt. I was telling Dj my mind is boggled that we never seen a deer in the day while driving…..anywhere. But then we were almost to Dave’s house and there stood a doe. First one, imagine that!
Following along w the live hunt thread was fun and kept me motivated. Lots of great deer was seen and taken. Too bad we wasn’t in the conversation
. I don’t know how many steps were taken or ridges and high grass crp fields we took, but I can tell you this county will be missing half its hitchhikers and thorns off the briars….thank me later.
I hope everyone has a great season and a safe one.
