Wondering what the price of crawfish/bugs are going for right now? I usually have some shipped to me. Wish I could get shipped from sea port. I get gouged where I buy them. We took a trip down and got about 700 lbs a few years back. One hell of a party. Unfortunately here in Ohio the ones they sell here are Chinese tuff and taste like shit. Won’t buy them. Can’t find them anywhere I know in stores for Louisiana . Pisses me off!

If y’all have never had a crawfish boil. Your missing out. If you have never had a cooked Louisiana Cajun crawfish boil it’s bucket list type thing!

They are going for $50 a sack in breaux bridge for selects. $25 for small/medium.

The crawfish are running in the swamp near me but my work days changed to weekdays instead of every 3rd day or I’d have traps out. I will probably go run a few times and catch some w my deepwater nets.

Its funny, sometimes when talking crawfish up here someone will say how nasty they are. I ask where they tried them. "The Chinese Buffet". I just shake my head. Disgusting that anyone would ever eat one of those nasty buffet bugs.

You can get the same Louisiana crawfish up here in the NW part of tbe state in most of the Lake Erie watershed creeks, streams. Seined them up my whole life for bait. My nephews still get bunches of them every year to eat

I would imagine there is untapped gold up there. All you need is some pillow traps and cut bait. I’m sure you have crawfish, but also sure it’s not the same as ours which wouldn’t make any difference. Out two subspecies here are the white and red. Plenty of subspecies.

My buddy’s dad lives in Nevada. He said he went in the hills in the streams and caught them. They were different and much bigger than ours.

I can send pics of pillow traps and also how to make them

Lol @giles why you making that poor kid eat those little brown nasty suckers. The Louisiana reds are damn good though. Pretty common in a lot of the marshes up here if you know where to look.

Because he curb stomped it X style. So I made him eat it. He then proceeded to kill and eat every one he found after that😂

Jbrown did. The same subspecies that exists in Louisiana are in the lake erie marshes. Thats the only place in Ohio. These brown nasty ones in creeks arent the same, and are disgusting when boiled up.
Well shit, I thought they were in the creeks that feed lake erie watershed. Regardless, the rusty crawfish arent bad either. Just purge them before cooking
