Seen 11 does and fawns. No horns yet but did get a pic of a buck on a doe. Wait I did see a 2 yr old at 400 yards.

The sun is finally braking through the clouds was supposed to be sunny this morning. Gonna sit for another hour or more.

How far was the shot? No blood or is there a lot of water? Sucks is right.

Well it went like this. Buck came out at 4pm started feeding. Not sure on exact distance but let just say he should be hanging. 160-180 yards. Slightly quartering away and I aimed center mass behind the front shoulder. Squeezed it off and seen the buck mule kick but also looked like he just 5’ off the ground. Big deer either 4-5 yrs old heavy 8 w very nice g2’s. Tines were heavy also. Had blood but just drops and a little more. Tracked it half mile then lost it. I will look for a cam
Pic and post it later. I’m not upset that I didn’t get him but rather that I wounded him.

Do you have access to a drone? I hate to hear about someone losing a nice buck. Hopefully he shows up on cameras, at least you’ll know he didn’t go to waste and you can still chase him.

No drone, deer will live or die. I will check again tomorrow during the day but not hopeful. Four of us tracked and pearl.

Actually this is the second good buck I’ve lost w a rifle, 36 years. I’ve missed a few w bow.
