Boys it’s hot! 92 degrees at 4 pm. We back in the stands but not on public like this morning. We are hunting my property. Looking for a good buck or old does without fawns.

Had at least come from upwind behind me but started blowing. Nothing else seen. Hunter had 3 circle him and knew something wasn’t right and bugged out. Always tomorrow

Well I stuck a 80# hitting high to oppo shoulder. Heard it crash 100 yards and quit. Onx marked where I thought it was. Arrow still buried behind high shoulder w lighted nock. Well I looked seems like forever and never found it.
Early in the morning dropped Hunter a 135# sow w a shot to the nugget. Later Hunter stuck a 50# hog and it ran off w no blood or arrow. Later same result on similar sized hog.
So this morning we killed 4 and recovered 1….sucks.

I interrupt the hunting season, fucking buddy getting married in Florida. Can’t believe I’m even going to be back at the camp Sunday night. Hunter is hunting, but haven’t got a report yet.
Have a buddy that got married the first week of November back in the day. You should have seen the camouflage at the reception lol

My sister got married on opening day of bow season years ago….guess who didn’t make the wedding? My wife went though.

Yeah I’m just bitching, At this point in my life a couple days ain’t gonna matter since I’m on vacation . At it’s not exactly cool outside. Didn’t even hunt yesterday evening. Hunter cooked a wood duck breast gravy.
His buddy was supposed to get to the camp around 12:30 last night but slipped in around 2:30. Alarm went off at 5:30 and developed n said he hit a spike last night on the way to the camp. Was in the back of his truck so the butchered it up before leaving to hunt. They hunted and only seen one hog and couple deer.
They are in a new area in a persimmon flat. Plenty of sign and trees are bearing. Hunter snapped me and said he had a fawn walk up to him.

Well since October 1st Hunter killed 9 hogs w the bow, recovering 4. Thinks he’s killed about 75 squirrels. He left Saturday morning to go see his gf for 2 days and has to cut all his yards before the 15th, that’s when he leaves and heads to Iowa to get it done.
I’ve stuck a pig and couldn’t find it. Killed a handful of squirrels and went last night w Blake to go catch frogs. We quit at midnight catching 225. Missed like 30 but that’s the game catching by hand.
Sitting here tired, back hurting, and will rest and cleanup the camp. Will start gathering hunting stuff for our trip. Dj’s last day at work is the 24th and we will roll out on the 25th. Maybe Hunter hasn’t killed and still there so I can get some family memories. Or if he’s done he will share some trees to hunt and roll out to somewhere I’m sure like Missouri, Illinois, Arkansas or who knows. He’s on that mission. Me…..well I’m not mad at them anymore, I’m sure two budging disc in my back has me not motivated. Hard to stand for 10 minutes then I have to sit. Will see a specialist after hunting season….MRI is done

Not quite the script I wanted to write after retirement. Back is from the fall I had in the boat up here a couple years ago. Figuring to mostly gun hunt deer and kill plenty of ducks. I’m no quitter
