Both boys walked w my gear and lokon/sticks and helped me set up my stand. It’s 850 yards back and 4 ridges back just off the grassy top of the ridge. Dj has seen 5 rack bucks in 2 morning hunts. This might be the place for me.

Whomp whomp! Nothing showed up. The boys went scouting and found a hot spot. Gonna sit my stand in the morning. Supposed to rain tomorrow so unless it’s raining and not drizzling, I will be in the stand. The boys are going doe hunting. Until tomorrow.

Well only seen a spike this morning before the rain. The boys sat the same tree together and had 2 does walk under them before it was light enough to shoot. Later they seen a doe 100 yards off. Taking the evening off while it rains and sleets.

Well got up to go, blowing 18 w gust to who fucking knows. Drove around my truck in the park w no deer sightings. Got back to the tent and said to myself “can’t kill him here”. Bugged out while boys were sleeping and arrived early enough to not need a light. Climbed tree and called and rattled every 30 minutes. Light flurry of snow, 26 degrees and cloud cover. Nothing seen and nothing moving on 8 cams, 10 o’clock, cold, aggravated and not mad enough to sit w cold feet and hands, I climbed down. Currently sitting at camp in the truck w heater running, wondering if this shit is for me anymore. This is day 15, I’m dragging ass and not motivated. FML

So I went back out like a dummy at 12:30. Wind was getting it and 28 degrees. Didn’t feel real cold as I was warm from the half mile walk through the ridges. Sat there and when the sun went down in the trees the temp fell and I was cold. So cold, I got out at 4:30, I know I missed the prime time but I had enough. You know when you’re so cold your extremities don’t feel right? That’s how I was and had to be careful getting out and walking the first 200 yards. Got a shower and ate a sandwich. Now I’m laying in bed wondering if I’m even gonna go tomorrow at 22 degrees w 10mph wind. I’m worn down and ready to head home.
Hope ya warm up! Any soup and good tunes to help the situation?
A hotel for a night might be what you need!

We good, seeing a deer would help my situation 100%. It’s deer hunting, not deer killing. I am missing the wife, but mainly my special girl Pearl! Duck season opens Saturday, any guesses what and where I will be? Fuck these deer.

Got up this morning but it was 18 and blowing over 10 mph. Ended up hunting at 1 on a flat ground marsh at the head of the lake. Had a great setup, made a brush blind. Got educated at 3 when a doe slipped out 20 yards away and got to my lane at 16 yard shot broadside. Only problem was bow was on the ground and she knew I shouldn’t be where I was in the saplings.
Nothing else was scene until I couldn’t see my pins and heard a beaver hit the river/creek behind me to my left. I gathered my stuff and stepped out and had another doe/deer at 60 yards.
The boys climbed the same tree and was hunting together. Seen 3 doe and a spike at 100. As the sun set a big 10pt w split 2’s stepped out. They grunted to him and he stopped 80 yards away, took a couple steps towards then, turned and headed where he knew he was going. Tomorrow is another new day. Maybe, just maybe, I will send a pic to this thread. Good luck to all putting in time in da tree. Be safe and shoot straight.

The boys hunted where Hunter killed his buck. Said he had a buck walk past him at 3 yards while he put on his 3rd climbing stick on the tree. He ended up seeing 4 does w none in range of a good shot. Dj seen a 4pt. Me and Dj going there in the morning and Hunter going to a spot he scouted but haven’t hunted yet. Maybe tomorrow I will get lucky.

Well not to be dramatic, I was crossing and about half way and started to lose my balance. I started running forward and jumped to the bank. Made it without getting wet. In pic that’s ice in the water not wind. So after the hunt it was on my mind and tried to get around it walking 300 yards towards the hill. Had to walk back across the log, no issues this time.Don’t leave us hanging, what happened at the creek crossing?
