Had an 8 point walk by, youngest wanted to shoot him, he hurried his shot and missed under the deer. Now he beating himself up. Told him it was better than a bad hit and now he has the jitters out.

Slower than usual here today, too. Not sure what to make of it. My entrance noise and timing were on point this morning. Felt really good. Must just be using another part of the property today. I'm tempted to bail and go put the dog on some pen raised pheasants.
Probably should of bought some when I was selling it for $10 a stick lol
I knew that was coming... [emoji17] Yep, I fucked up.

Bummer! Oh well... Good learning experience for him. He'll get the next one!

Well, shit...

A real nice 140ish nine or ten point just trotted out in front of me about 80 yds away. He was going to travel around me, and was upwind... So I gave him a quick series of tending grunts and doe bleats to get his attention. Sumbitch bugged out and trotted back to the north, away from me and out of sight. No idea why but he acted awfully skittish.

Don’t you hate that? Lots of times I know how I messed up but I hate when they just do something not according to the plan.

Ok now I feel better. He just reappeared to my north. And it turns out, he's with a doe. No wonder he was acting goofy. They both just moved back into the dogwood thicket again.

Hope that doe brings him by!!
Unbelievable. The doe was running around with him right on her ass. Just as she looks like she's gonna pull him my way, the damn county EMA sirens start going off!!! Both deer stop dead in their tracks to listen. Then the sirens quit and they bound back around me to the west! Shit! Lol

Part of me is kind of glad they didn't come in range now. I probably would've flung an arrow at him, and he's a good bit smaller than the buck I had the encounter with yesterday.
