Live From the Stand 2017.

Things are getting smoked up, phone is being charged & I'll be back out in a bit. I'll be back in the same spot as this morning & hopefully the setting sun will do it's magic. Good luck everyone !
Ditto. I decided to ditch the tree today and hunt from the ground. I’m about halfway up a ridge on a small bench overlooking where 3 points come together. Cam and past hunts have shown doe traffic through here. Fingers crossed
Ended up seeing 6 total this AM. Wind sucks for every stand right now, so I just went to the creek bottom since it's a roll of the dice down here anyways.

Im out & ten steps from the truck a lone doe ? is coming down by my ladderstand at me. I sat down, but she eventually saw me & blew & blew & blew.
That particular stand 150 yards perhaps from where i park. I rarely use it. My route takes me past it. I merely mentioned it as a reference. I could park right next to the house & deer would walk by.

Hahaha. Well perhaps you can tell me where that doe went. I didn't see or hear her afterwards. Nothing else happened for the evening.
If there was ever an exemplary love/hate relationship, it would be me and bowhunting. Right now, I ain't feeling real cozy...

Had the button buck and doe fawn I always see at this spot come by. Caught a quick glimpse of another one but couldn't tell what it was. Then later I saw a buck chasing a doe about 150 yards away in the crp. Didn't look very big, might have shot him given the chance. Trigger finger is getting itchy
I never saw a deer after 11AM this morning. Where I sat tonight, I could visually see a 300 yard long creek bottom that's half CRP, half clover. I could see the shelves and ridges lines on either side of the creek bottom. No wind, so I was hearing chipmunks 100 yards off. I stood from 3 to dark. I never saw or heard a deer.
I am a living black hole for rut activity. And that farm is cursed.

One BIG doe tonight just before dark, something made her hang up just before I drew on her. She didn't blow out but definitely didn't like something and left. We'll try again tomorrow. Hope someone stuck something tonight!
