LIVE from the stand 2019-20

I missed a buck tonight. No clue what happened but I shot like 2 feet over his back. I shot another arrow into the ground right afterwards and dead on. Everything felt good, just missed. Shit happens. Theres bigger out there. I ain't even mad. I'll get back at it again sometime. Now until gun opener is when the real big ones come out anyway. Still no signs of a rut.
I done that 6 years ago. Shot right over the back. I looked at the wrong pin. It was a nice big 11. He was huge. I'll never forget that day. I was bummed out for a week.

I got out at 10, didn’t see anything else there. Had to check a couple cameras, dump a couple piles of corn and refill the feeder at the kids spot then other stuff I have to do today. The camera by my treestand in the back yard had a young buck walking by at 10:15. They seem to be still moving around here. Tomorrow all day is reserved for hunting.

Back in the tree again, still windy as fuck. It's hot around my house, saw three cruising this morning and my parents came over for breakfast and saw my number 1 crossing the road to my side. Hopefully he is still around.
Was it you or Jake that killed one just like this a year or two ago?

Saw a nice 8 point 3 or 3.5 across the street from my house and not allow to shoot because of the city. So, left the house to go to the property to hunt.... 40 mins before dark and dogs going ape shit barking for 40 mins, great! I leave the property and I'm driving down the road... about a mile I from the property I almost ran into a decent buck either 6 or 8 point... not sure but big bodie and I would say he'd be 3.5. Or 4. Soon as I came by, he was on the side of the road. He was like "oh, shit! I'm turning around and heading back" lol.

I'll save you all the suspense of the nut shot (sorry Giles) and get right to the chase. I filled my buck tag at 310pm. Two bucks snuck in together (since they are all gay this year apparently) and I shot the first and biggest one. Not gonna lie he had major ground shrinkage, but I'm thrilled nevertheless. I think the lack of seeing anything big has my judgement ability whack cause that's two in two nights I misjudged. I'm glad for him though and ready to go fishing and get my friends on deer. I enjoy that more then anything. I still have a doe tag to fill but I'll probably save that for gun. Good luck all, I'll be making jerky this week.
