Well, I hand to get down real early. Just the three antlerless deer seen with two of them within bow range for the first hour. A little after 8:00 a.m. is when I climbed down.

The cold got to me. Not that I was actually cold, but my arthritis kicked in big time, both in the front of my chest area and in the middle of my back from all the shattered ribs and a broken sternum from a past auto wreck decades ago. It sucks that the cool brisk wind got too me pretty bad this morning and it's been awhile since that's happened to me. Just took a couple of ibuprofens and now I'm taking it easy. I doubt that I can even pull my bow back at the moment. Hopefully, the pain will reside here shortly. I want to get back out there this evening for sure. It's absolutely beautiful outside at the moment and based on the SD cards that I swapped out this morning from both PLB locations, daylight buck activity has picked up. I had to set the clocks back on both of those TCs. I'll have to do the same for the other four that I have yet to get to. I will be adjusting at least three of them at the bait station today for sure.

I believe my hunting areas are starting to heat up and by the end of this week, things should be pretty much on fire, which is typical for my neck of the woods.

Good luck to all you guys that are still out there trying to make it happen. I'll be watching. Go get'em!

FOMO is hitting me pretty damn hard right now. Chose not to hunt last night and I’ll never make that choice again. lesson learned. Someone go smoke a bruiser today

Okay, after four ibuprofens, two after breakfast and two after lunch, plus a long nice hot shower, I feel much better! Still a little stiff in the very middle of my back where my ribcage connects to my spin, but I was able to shoot my bow just fine.

So, I'm back in the stand for rest of the day at my 'Western Stand', hoping for a big newcomer cruiser to pass through.

The wind still has a bite to it, but I'm bundled up pretty good, so I should be just fine.

Good luck to whomever is out this evening!

Saw nothing this morning from a stand that should be good but ive never seen a deer from it. Ive seen them bedded directly in front of it from another stand and see them come that way all the time but it never materializes. Back in my confidence stand. The wind direction is doable. Came in at 10, back out at 230. Good luck TOOville.

It’s killing my soul reading all these posts while I’m stuck working from home with my kids here, wife working 10 hour shifts, and the babysitter unavailable today and tomorrow. Then knee surgery Wednesday, so I feel like my best case is being able to hobble out to the blind Friday or Saturday at the earliest. There’s no way for me to hunt the tree stand or climber that I setup specifically for rut. Absolutely soul crushing right now!!! Plus I missed last years rut entirely because our daughter was born on November 1st and my wife had complications with the c-section.

Stay pure of heart and pure of motive during this time and good things will come your way. You’re taking care of business right now as you were last year.
