Pulled in my drive right around dusk. Heard my first shot of bonus weekend. Heard another 3-5min later. Not at all shocked based on where I heard the shot. Glad I'm done. You all be safe and have a successful bonus weekend!

Youve never target shot with the headlights lighting up your target? Go to work in the dark come home in the dark. Im joking but not completely ive done it more than once if rain was falling on planned shooting day.

A friend of mine has a buddy who shows up religiously, Sunday evening before gun opener and sights in his gun after dark. Has for the last 10 years. Never needs adjusting just gotta put that round down range in the dark, lit up by two trucks headlights on high beam….

@Bowkills I have shot to dial one in with headlights. Never the night before gun season. Certainly not the bonus weekend. That would have been done before week long gun season. You are correct though. It is possible someone was sighting in. Sorta doubt it though.

I sent 2 shots downrange right before dark this evening. Both boys hit high and I needed to triple check the gun because of it. I'm sure people had the same thoughts as you, Phil. Truth is, I was actually being a responsible hunter verifying my equipment. Knowing people were going to be haters wasn't going to stop me. I would've done it under headlights if I needed to. I put in 63 hours this week and had checked the gun before gun week.

I am also wide awake with excitement to hunt today! Zero worry about worry about anything.

While on the topic of keeping things legal. I had this guy in front of me for 20 minutes before legal light. He slipped out of sight with 2 minutes left before I could shoot. Oh well. 30 yards😂
