Called off work to hunt this cold front. Slipped in to the blind around 6. Had 3 come in around 745. A little 4 pts and two yearling does. Gonna sit for another hour or until the wind blows in the exact opposite direction it was forecast.

Our 1st call off of the season !....lol
Dude I've been cussing these hot temps for about three months now. There ain't no way I'm letting this one slide. If those corporate bastards didn't want me to take time off then they shouldn't have given me time off to take! :)

We don't get sick time. Just "your time" to use how you see fit.

Middle sis is out on her first ever hunt as the huntress. Seen 5 already, including a nice little 8 point. She spoke up a month ago saying she was ready to hunt, so we put in the effort and she's ready to let it rip at the ripe old age of 7.

Eyes on the prize. Two does, including what I believe is an antlered doe, are with two fawns feeding on acorns in the holler below us. It could get real, real fast.

Good shooting, Tex!

As @brock ratcliff would say, we had all the fun and none of the mess tonight. Had a fox 10' from the blind and enjoyed a beautiful evening in the blind. Was a good opportunity to talk to her about gratitude (for time together, time in nature, and the ability to do fun stuff) especially since she struggles with it. She's a great kid, but gets down if things don't go her way. It started to head that direction, but we left thankful for a fun evening and that's way better than firing off a shot.
