Back in my sanctuary stand. Got in clean and I know as of 5AM, the Big 6 was not on a doe. I'll have the perfect combo of wind and thermals today. Here until noon at the latest, then it's a basketball doubleheader and a fundraising event this evening. Looks like rain all day tomorrow, then I'm off Mon/Tues. Here goes nothing...

Im done with archery for the season, I’ll be back up for gun week as well as muzzleloader season.
I’ve been glassing the fields periodically throughout the day looking for deer and the groundhogs I’ll try to remove.
Picked up my buck yesterday evening and had a couple hours to kill, so just sat in the truck, binos in hand and watched the evening unfold.
5 doe and a button buck was the final count before I had to leave at the end of shooting light.

Savannah is out for redemption she missed a nice 8 earlier. Shot right under him, she's never missed so she didn't know how to handle it. She was so upset she even started crying. I've not let her live it down yet but she's back at it again tonight so I'd hate to be the first deer by her.

It's a wash out here in SW Ohio. I'm going to start boiling this skull and dig my trapping gear out that's been packed away for ten or so years. Thin out a few predators seems like a good thing to do since work is a little slow right now.
Feeling optimistic about seeing something. Would feel better if gun season. In a climber. No cameras. No Intel outside of past history. Maybe should have moved 40-50yds deeper in. Thus the gun season thoughts. Anywho, three trunks of trees together. As good of cover as you get in open woods. Walked a rub line in. Saw one scrape. Not bad for no recent intel.

Went to dump a couple 50lb bags of golden acorns this afternoon on some permission property before I go up north tomorrow. Bumped a solid 140” class 9 point bedded with a doe. Super soft bump, so I called my dad and told him to give up on the leaves for today and get back there. High hopes for him. Good luck to anyone else out.
Kenna and I are in the blind behind the house. Just had 3 does cruise by at 100 yards. Feels like a good day for them to move after a full day of rain. Still looking for that first real action for her, so we've got our

Dead here. Been in since 30 minutes before light and all I've seen is a lonely doe right at first light. Nothing since.
